In her exhibition “LICHTUNGEN“ (: clearings), the young Dresden-based artist Antka Hofmann presents cyanotypes and, for the first time, her self-created sporotypes.
Hofmann's work operates in the field of experimental photography - without the use of a camera. The different methods with which she works are united under the linking element of “time“ - set deliberately against the hectic pace of our modern life.

By playing with light and shadows, Antka Hofmann achieves a quiet and intensely mysterious aura. In her poetic cyanotypes, Hofmann allows sensual blue silhouettes to emerge by means of long exposure times. The artistic charm of these cyanotypes lies in the detailed reproduction of, and the direct correlation to, external reality, whilst microcosmic, private worlds emerge from organic material in Hofmann's sporotypes. These works breathe propagation. The goal is not the capturing of a fleeting moment, but the tactile conception of an encountered reality within tense temporal limits.

In an additional exhibition, Torsten Solin shows photographs in lightboxes from his series “DIORAMEN“ (: dioramas), which depict attractive, naked young women placed within surreal landscapes.
Solin's diorama-series includes compositions of eroto-manic dreamlike illusions, whose content revolves around terms like beauty and vanitas and is fed by the dualisms of Eros and Thanatos, reality and illusion. The images give the viewer an insight into Solin's subjective world and evoke a burgeoning romance in times of increasing alienation and universal unification - a constant search for truth and ideal.
